Danielle has spent the last 20 years working as a school psychologist, adjunct professor, and contractor. She has worked with students from preschool to high school aged and worked in the full range of settings from public schools, charter schools, to non-public schools. She completed her undergraduate degree from University of California, Davis and then went on to obtain her Master's Degree from California State University, Sacramento. In 2010, she obtained her License as an Educational Psychologist (LEP # 3165). During her time in the schools, Danielle developed a passion for finding ways to include children with disabilities alongside their typically developing peers in general education classrooms. She had the honor and privilege of helping build an inclusive program at an innovative charter school in Sacramento. Seeing the program's success inspired her to help other schools build more inclusive programs. While Danielle was busy serving students with disabilities in her professional life, in 2013, she experienced the personal side of disability and was blessed with a child diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. Navigating the system as a parent and educator gave Danielle a unique perspective and inspiration. In 2018, Danielle was honored to be accepted into a fellowship program at the UCDavis MIND Institute, LEND: Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental & Related Disabilities. During her time at MIND, Danielle received state of the art training from world renowned researchers on autism diagnosis, assessment, treatment, and interventions. She also served in a parent coaching program for families and helped facilitate a 26 week long social skills training group. In addition, she conducted research with colleagues on teacher perceptions of inclusion. Click below to see a video highlighting... Danielle's inspiring experiences with inclusion |
